Basic recommendations to correctly record your presentation:

LOCATION

Choose the correct place to connect to the video conference. We

suggest a quiet space with few objects. If objects do appear behind the speaker, they should be relevant to the content of the event. Preferably use a light background. If you have a Chroma Key it would be ideal.

 

POSITION OF THE CAMERA

Place your camera at face level, preferably at eye level. Use a stand or stack of books if connecting from a tablet, mobile phone or laptop.

 

MICROPHONE / AUDIO

Headband headphones with a built-in microphone, "operator" type, are the ones that usually offer the best results in video conferences. Alternatively, you can use the microphone and speaker of your equipment (with moderate volume to avoid interference), try to be in a quiet place, without background noise that interferes with the quality and clarity of the sound when speaking.

 

LIGHTING

Make sure you are in a well-lit area. To avoid undesirable light changes, it is preferable to use artificial light. Natural light coming from windows or doors can vary during the meeting, causing shadows that impair the correct viewing of the session. It is very important that there is no natural light behind you: window, corridor or door, since this causes backlight effects.

 

SOFTWARE (Zoom will be used for recording)

Understand how the Zoom software works, know how to use it and test it in advance. You may have to download an application and log in, so you will need to do so in advance. Consider the device you are connecting with and check all the essentials: audio, picture, and internet connection.

 

INTERNET CONNECTION

A stable connection for video conferencing is considered one that is done by cable and whose download speed is at least 5 Mbps and whose upload speed is at least 5 Mbps. If you only have the option to connect via Wi-Fi, make sure you are within 10 meters of the router without obstacles. NO TO MULTI-TASKING

Avoid multitasking while in a video conference. It shows on screen! It is quite evident when someone is not paying attention because they are doing other things. Unnecessary noises are heard (sheets, keyboard, etc.), the other person's eyes look from one side to the other and it is annoying for the other participants.
